This weekend was the Celtic Festival here in Dayton, and a group of us went down Friday night. So of course it stormed.
While the rain was torrenting down and being lashed about by storm winds, we took refuge under the overhang of one of the nearby buildings.
One one side of me were Sweet and Flo (not pictured is AnniPotts, who was on the other side of Flo talking to some friends),
And on the other side were Fitz, and Flo’s brother.
After a while, the rain stopped, and we headed off in search of beer (it was the Celtic Fest, after all) and food. Sweet’s friend from Cincinnati joined us too.
And then we headed back to the main venue where Celtic Storm was playing. Unfortunately it looked like the bad weather wasn’t done with us yet. In just a few minutes it went from this…
…to this. It was a little freaky. Still, as long as the band was playing we wanted to stay. Unfortunately, the frequent lightning was getting to be a bit much. Gaelic Storm left the stage with many promises to return the next day. So we went home.
On the way back to our car, AnniPotts and I passed the water play area where a huge cloud of moths was swarming in the glow of the streetlights. It was a little magical.
The perfect end to a really fun night.
