One of my readers asked me to share pictures of the lovely Aran sweater my father gave me last Thursday, and as everybody knows, I am helpless to resist the requests of my readers:
This is a close-up of a little of the cabley goodness: from top to bottom it’s a two stitch twist, a lovely braid, another two-stitch twist, and the beginning of one of the swaths of honeycomb cables (which make the most lovely, thick and cushy fabric btw).
The front of the sweater: seed-stitch filled diamonds, twists, braids and honeycombs. You can also see my favorite feature, the pockets!
I really like the way the shoulder is constructed – much more flattering, I think, than drop shoulders.
Proof that it truly is an Irish sweater.
Is this a great sweater or what?!
